The Los Angeles Galaxy were dancing with wolves on Wednesday night at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Washington, and the patchwork lineup sent by Bruce Arena was easy prey for a Seattle Sounders team in need of a league result against LA.

Seattle shutout the Galaxy 2-0 in a match that proved to be one-sided, despite the stat sheets suggesting an equal contest.

No star power leads to a bad result. And a bad result leads to poor ratings.

Bill Gaudette 5

Gaudette was beaten twice in the match by the scoring tandem of Eddie Johnson and Fredy Montero. He didn't make enough saves to acquit himself and has to be wondering just exactly what happened to the now fallen star known as Josh Saunders. It was not one of his best nights, and he can only hope that an improved performance against New York is in the books. He can only hope.

David Junior Lopes 4

Another off night for Lopes in the back line. Played out of position at times and couldn't stop Montero and Johnson from dealing irreversible damage.

Sean Franklin 4

Turned the ball over one too many times, and when you can't beat the Sisters of Mercy with this performance, it shows. Perhaps the nearest confessional might fix Franklin's invisible mojo.

A.J. DeLaGarza 5.5

Was out of position on the goal by Johnson but otherwise held his own. Strongest defender on the field for LA, as always.

Bryan Gaul 3

It was going to be a baptism by fire for rookie Bryan Gaul, and he didn't impress at all in his first start for the Gs. He lacked crossing ability and couldn't work a lot of magic with the ball at his feet. You sometimes see this from rookies who don't have a lot of experience and confidence. This is why he was a supplemental draft selection before the start of this season.

Juninho 4.5

Couldn't find a rhythm with Marcelo Sarvas. Still a work in progress in terms of chemistry between the two Brazilians.

Bryan Jordan 3

Jordan was not ready to make critical stops on the backline for LA. Seattle was in attack mode for all of 90 minutes and Jordan got torched early and often. In addition, his long passes were diabolical at best.

At least there's always the web design side of things.

Marcelo Sarvas 3.5

The play of Marcelo Sarvas was going to be a determining factor as to whether or not LA would at least draw with Seattle. Sarvas played very poorly in the midfield and couldn't mesh with Juninho. Might as well have gave up on trying to mark Fredy Montero. This is why Sarvas is a bench warmer first, starter second.

Chad Barrett 4

When you are the road team, nerves start to come in. When nerves start to come in, you play like Chad Barrett. When you play like Chad Barrett, you finish like Chad Barrett. When you finish like Chad Barrett, you get subbed. When you get subbed, you are frustrated. And when you are frustrated, you add another one to the loss column. Landon Donovan 6

Probably the only player who actually bothered to show up on Wednesday night and put on a brave face against Seattle for the Galaxy. It's embarrassing when, instead of working with veteran soldiers, you are stuck with Boy Scouts. Help will need to be on the way come Saturday.

Adam Cristman 4

Could not make the most of his possession. Had one chance on goal but missed wide.

Edson Buddle 4

Buddle, Cristman and Barrett had the false assumption that they could emulate Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. Neither of these forwards have the footwork and cutting abilities that Messi and Ronaldo currently possess. Shoot first, show antics later.

Mike Magee 5

Magee had a number of volleys during his time off the bench, but couldn't show anything for it. When is that Magee Magic going to return? He is in a clear and visible slump.

Came into the match late, no rating given.
