After a slow first six weeks of the season, Major League Soccer found its attacking pulse in Week 7.
Stars such as Sebastian Giovinco and Obafemi Martins delivered world-class strikes in a week that saw 26 goals fly into the back of the net.
Because of the terrific offensive output, we molded our MLS Team of the Week into a 4-1-3-2 with two attacking midfielders on the flanks.

Free kicks are usually all about skill, but Sebastian Giovinco showed for Toronto FC that it's possible to add a little showmanship and theatrics to the mix as well.
The Italian pointed one way before he struck the dead ball against FC Dallas, suggesting his mind was elsewhere, before cheekily whipping the ball into the corner.

Martins' flicked control to create space was simply breathtaking, and he rounded off the move with a composed finish. MLS Week 7 started early with New York City FC hosting the Philadelphia Union on Thursday in a rematch from last Saturday.
Friday's UniMas game features the undefeated New York Red Bulls against the San Jose Earthquakes at Red Bull Arena.
Saturday has a full slate of matches, beginning with D.C. United and the Houston Dynamo and culminating with the LA Galaxy welcoming Sporting Kansas City in the late kickoff.
Sunday's nationally televised games should be entertaining, with the Union battling the New England Revolution on ESPN2. NYCFC and the Portland Timbers will square off to finish the week.

The MLS weekend is over with several interesting storylines emerging in the aftermath of the games.
Orlando City SC defeated the Portland Timbers as the Lions recorded their second win of the season. Meanwhile, the LA Galaxy snapped their four-game winless skid after topping the Seattle Sounders at the Stubhub Center on Sunday.
The Vancouver Whitecaps' four-match winning streak ended in San Jose on Saturday. The New York Red Bulls overturned a 2-0 deficit to draw their fierce rival D.C. United earlier in the day, plus the Philadelphia Union and Colorado Rapids earned their first victories of the campaign.

Vancouver Whitecaps forward Octavio Rivero extended the impressive start to his MLS career in Week 6 by scoring his fifth strike of the young season.

The David Villa star continues to rise in New York City.
Formerly of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, the World Cup winner did the honours of ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange.
Villa so far has made two appearances with MLS outfit New York City FC, but clearly the locals are taking quite a liking to the Spaniard.

When we first looked at the schedule for Week 6 in Major League Soccer, we expected the big names to shine in marquee matches.
After the dust settled on the weekend, we were left talking about some surprising individual performances.
LA Galaxy goalkeeper Jaime Penedo turned in a gem in net against the Seattle Sounders, while the Colorado Rapids shocked everyone around the league with a big win over FC Dallas on Friday night.
There were also a plentiful amount of standout showings in midfield, which led us to choose a 3-5-2 formation for the best 11 of the weekend.

The LA Galaxy pulled out a 1-0 win over the Seattle Sounders at the StubHub Center on Sunday night in the first of three clashes between the two sides this season.
Bruce Arena's side jumped into the lead in the 23rd minute, when Alan Gordon scored on an open header following a free-kick.
The defending MLS Cup champions held on to their lead, thanks to a stunning performance in goal by Jaime Penedo, who made 10 saves in the club's second victory of the season.
